OIl/watery leak
Well I put water in it this mornign and discovered that it was leaking inside the front of the intake somwhere.
SO i turn it on now its leaking oily water above the waterpump and the top of the waterpump is covered in oily water... Could this be a upper or lower intake gasket leak? i just replaced them and just turned on my car after a 7 month period.
also the temp gauge doesnt work?

Re: OIl/watery leak
Temperature sensor is probably bad, or you have a stuck thermostat for the gauge... but for the motor... I'm in the same boat.
You have three options.
The head gaskets are going to cost about $200 - on top of labor which is going to cost probably another $400ish ... so you're looking at ~ $600 for a head-gasket install.
An Engine gets complicated with these cars. You see, they don't make RWD 3.8's anymore, they're all FWD so unless you get one out of an F-Body which will typically have alot of miles and possibly problems on it, you have to get one out of a FWD car. The good news is, they're pretty cheap. $300ish for a low mile 3.8 - check out www.car-part.com ... The bad news is there's ALOT of conversion necessary. All the accessories, the rear engine plate, the upper and lower intake...has to be swapped...then you're also looking at new intake gaskets aswell... so with all that conversion and dropping the motor in...with labor? You're probably looking at at least $2,000 from a shop ...maybe $3,500

Re: OIl/watery leak
600 I can do that.. Does that include the intake gaskets as well since they have to remove them to get to the heads?
If that is good i mean i can do that.
Do you know any place in tenn that does them for around that price range?

Re: OIl/watery leak
first you need to take it to a shop so they can tell you what needs to be replaced,
if you dont have any confidence in any independent mechanics where you are you might want to atleast get a quote from a GM dealership. atleast you'll know the best parts are used and can have more confidence that it done right because the mechanics are well trained. Make sure they also replace the head bolts too, the bolts get worn out from heat cycles.
