Need some advice from some 6'ers with Nitrous
I was considering nitrous but have heard that it is pretty harmful to the engine.. I was wondering if its worth the $ and whats the max boost that can be run with a stock 3.8l 75? 100?
any guys with Nitrous have any probs? whats the best kit to buy? wet? dry? also, is a 75 shot big enough to feel from the driver seat? and how many times would you spray in a race to 90-100? will a 75 - 100 shot put down a good race with an 8? thanks |
Boost? Are you talking about nitrous or forced induction here? http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif
Through a friend's friend, I was able to buy two nitrous kits dirt cheap, one for the Stealth and one for the Camaro. However, until I am 100% familiar with it, I won't be installing either. They'll be sitting in the garage. http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif There are a couple of sites you can visit that will help you understand nitrous. I saw a Chevy magazine this weekend with NITROUS POWER on the cover, might want to look into reading it. I can't answer your specific questions but I don't think I would want to start spraying a stock engine. Since you CAN do major damage with nitrous, I'd suggest you do some research on the basics and then worry about if a 75 shot is enough to take down a V8. http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif ------------------ -Nathan 1996 Camaro 3.8L Series II, SLP Cold-Air Intake, Catco cat, Accel 8mm wires, Zexel LSD, 3.42 gears and a Borla catback. 1995 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo Intercooled 3.0L AWD M6,A'PEXi AVC-R boost control, HKS Blow-off valve, K&N FIPK, Denso Iridium plugs, 245/40/18 Kumho Supra, Borla Catback, all Mobil 1 fluids. *VVvvTTttFFff* TNC since 1981! |
