My car dies when i turn...
I've tried finding this problem on this forum but no luck.
what happens is when i'm driving every once in a while my car just dies out, but it mostly happens when i take a turn... the radio stays on but the engine still dies. the battery and alternator are almost brand new, i just changed them a few months ago... can anyone help me find the culprit?? |
depends on the year but there is a power steering cut off switch near the gearbox... off memory when you turn and ps pressures are high it is supposed to turn off the ac compressor. could be to much strain and killing it... try unplugging if applicable. been a long time since i seen one

Does it kind of sputter and chug before it dies, or is it just an instantaneous thing?
|
yes, alot of chug and sputtering... could it be a busted bearing in the powersteering pump?
i do hear a whining sound but i don't know where it's coming from |
bump :D

I have this too on occasion. The car feels like its under a huge load, and doesnt really want to move. Only happens from a dead stop at 90* turns, but not all the time.
This car has a brand new rack too, acts the same as the old one. All new fluid, and the pump makes no noise. Doesnt bother me enough to do anything about it though. Just a rare annoyance. |
