The monster is the TRACK!!!!! Got 3rd in the trophy.
The monster is the TRACK!!!!! Got 3rd in the trophy.
Went out there tonight with the truck.
There was 3 v6's. 1 3.8 and two 3.4 auto.
The 3.8 was running consisten 18.8 with 2.6-2.9 60fts. (The dude can't drive a stick to save his mother)!!!!
As for the 3.4's, one was from the local car club GMEternal. 3.4 auto with all the bolt-ons like mine. 17.7-17.80 at 77-78mph. The other was in the same ballpark.
Which means either both of the 3.4 are plaqued by the same illness, or the track sucks!!!! I vote for the track.
Cause tonight the truck wouldn't touch the 14's with a best of 15.07 at 92mph. Its got the aerodynamics of BRICK, and a 20mph headwind is not your friend on any night.
Got 3rd place in the trophy (which there is no trophy for 3rd), lost to my good buddy with a stock '02 SS 6sp center exhaust, running 13.60 @104mph with 2.0-2.1 60fts. bone stock with 3k miles on it. The SES light came on...........and that as they say is that.
But he went on to win the 1st place, so at least my buddy won, and I lost to the 1st place winner.
The big thing was the FIRE!!!!
10 second @ 140mph CRX (nothing but a rollcage inside, and a full fiberglass hood and fenders) BLEW UP in the staging lanes after making a run!!! It went up like a BOMB!!!
As it was coming to a stop in the stagin lanes, it "poped", and flames jumped 20 feet in the air, with the driver jumping out of the car. After 4 extinugishers, it still wouldn't go out. And of course the fire trucks are at the end of track, so by the time they came up the track...eh it was bad. In the end was a $40.000,00 pile of melted fiberglass, with the owner kicking the car, and the crispy fiberglass crumbling. The driver is very lucky to be alive!
All in a night at LACR

ses light
when your SES light comes on, does it really take away horsepower? I took my cat off and my SES light stays on. Does this mean im losing power? Someone told me i need to go to rksport and get the 02 sensors.
I think the track is your problem, not the car!

The SES light didn't come on in the Camaro.......it did on the truck.
It is for Oil Injection System Control Pressure Below Specs.
The chip is kicking up the HP oil pump to drive the injectors higher than it can, so the PCM see's the oil pressure being lower than what the chip is telling it to see...........so it ignors the ICP (injection control pressure) sensor, and substitutes it own pressure valve....lowering the oil pressure to the injecotors...........resulting in lower fuel pressure.........less power.
In your case about the SES light and the cats, .......no your not losing power from the light.
