Post Jet Chip

Whats the difference of the Jet Ship Stage 1 and Stage 2? Which would be better for the car in my sig? ...planning on adding whisper lid and headers in the near future.

Josh/ryan just got my Stage 2 today, you make me want to go put in now.But I will let you know tomorrow.Yeah its a block that fits on the exsisting ECM.Take the plugs off of it push the block/cap/module on the ECM replace the plugs on the new Jet Pcm(goes between ECM and connector for ECM)
The both of ya could run it now w/ the addition of a 160 thermo(minimum)but to get a fan switch will help maintain low temps. In which the chip/PCM partially utilizes for gains.Theres other tuning w/it also.
I'll let you know,I got mine for $235 @ I-5 Automotive.com

Not Night and Day,but a very noticable gain so far really didnt get that much wheel time.I'm going to the track this weekend that will tell me alot. But so far I can tell its getting alot more air,the exhaust sounds louder.2nd gear is pulling better, you can tell theres more fuel/timing added, top end 3rd was alot better. It is supposed to make the tranny shift firmer,I couldnt really feel a diff.(maybe holding slightly more)I can't tell b/c of the HD2 competition/off road transgo shift kit installed is tough already.
I like it,like I said soon as I hit the turns, and bloww into the straights at the track this weekend True Test.Maybe I'll drop some secs of my lap times

BigEd,No It's seconds.I run open track events(training for my competition lic.road racing),not drag race.Thunderhill racway 3mi.and 15 turns.Lap time in august last time was 2 min. 36 seconds. This time I did 2 minutes 28 seconds. At the begining of this season I was doing 2 min. 59 secs blah!.And Yeah good gains and better driving.
The car is tuned baby, feels good.My boss(owner of the nursery I run)and I and a few of his friends are renting sacramento speedway when his 64 1/2 mustang 351W 733hp,stage 2 nitrous brings it to 1150hp,is done so we can finally see what it can do(prob. high 7s low 8s).I'll run mine then,I'll bet I'm at least in the 14s.
Ed theres extra power in all ranges, alot more ***** lord knows we need that T.

Hey #7, what league do you race in? I've been tryin to get in the scca for a while now, with no luck. I've been to a couple of (parking lot) time trials and mirror races and dying to try my luck. My Z has enough torque to handle the tracks straights and I noticed alot of drivers making mistakes. The jet chip made a big difference in you car huh? 8 seconds off your original time is a big improvement, and I'm guessing thats every run. The first thing I plan to do in my 3800 is K&N filter w/ a carbon fiber MTI airbox lid, shift kit, 160 thermo. and see what I got from there. No major mods cause I still plan to get an LS1, but the 6 would be nice to play with for a while. Can I get the stage two after simple mods or do I have to get headers etc...

Stangkilla...
Jet recommends better intake, better exhaust, and a lower thermostat.

That's all you need to use the stage 2.

Eds got it,based on what you plan to do first already, add one of the CAIs.you could do the stage 2.
I'm a member of NASA(national auto sport assoc.)I cant compete yet you need to train to take the licence test,I'm training in open road/track events w/ them here in Northern California."NASA pro racing" punch that in to the browser, they may have something in your area.
Although these events are a strong dose of reality, just like a real race, you can see upwards of 24-30 cars(all types)all GETTIN IT on the same track at the same time. You line up in grids, flag stations, melting rubber(gobs).Everything like a real race hence training. You need to prove yourself so to say, learn the in & outs,Its in the bag by the end of next season prob.I'll be licensed.Thunderhill is a SCCA owned track 3mi.15 turns.I get to train at Sears point on Oct.12.Laguna next year.
My 6 is very competitive,But I'm looking for a LT Z28 myself(that will be THE CAR).But I wont give up my 6 when I do either.Out there(at the track)I've whipped alot of really cool, stereotyped fast cars.I have pics just havnt figured out how to post them.Tried that sub domain thing got half way through cant complete something??? The address works but you cant do anything there??
Thankx for the interest stangkilla,Check em out.I used to want to do it,now I do.Ever since racing my first car down dirt roads at 16.Keep on Keepin on. T.
