Post help with motor

I've got a 95 V6 Camaro and have some motor issues. I got the service engine soon light a couple of days ago, but only for a few minutes. The next day I got in to drive the car and it ran terrible. Idled like a funny car, wouldn't ran worth a dang. So I leave the car and came back that night and it cranked up and ran fine. I figured it was sensor related so decided I would wait till the weekend and try and get the OBD read. But, today while driving the car, the idle began to increase while I drove. Something is causing the computer to raise the idle of the motor ridiculously while I am driving. I got Autozone to check for codes and all the OBD read was code 304 (engine missfire detected). I will check the obvious things (plugs, wire, etc..), but does anyone have any suggestions. I think there must be a sensor out of range causing the motor to run like this, but there is no service engine soon light on now, so I can't get a running code. I am planning on trying to convince Atuozone to run a running test, but please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks - Adam

EGR is most often cause on 3.4's to throw a light

But sounds like it could be a IAC being dirty or sticking.

It wouldn't cause that kind of prob. I don't think, but the Autozone guy here told me that the O2 sensor would bring the light on/go off shortly after, and wouldn't give a code if it was going bad...just a tidbit.
