Engine leaking coolant?
Lately I get a real strong smell of coolant coming from the engine bay. I went today to look at it after driving for awhile and noticed something leaking from the top on to where the last pulley is. It looks kind of brownish. Not oil since it is too watery. Any idea of what could be leaking from the top? Especially since it seems to be coolant. Thanks!
These cars, along with many newer vehicles, utilize Dex-cool coolant. This means that the coolant is not green as you may be used to, but more of a red or brown color. Do not add green coolant to the system. Check for a leak in the cooling lines and replace that part, then top off the system with dex-cool or an equivalent coolant.
