Alternator not charging after changing serpentine belt
 

Hey Guys,

I changed the drive belt myself last evening. Since then the alternator doesn't seem to charge the battery? I check if the belt is tight and it is. I can even see the component inside the alternator running. Any help would be appreciated.

First check the serpintine belt routing, if the routing is not correct and for some reason the altenator is spinning backwards it may cause your problems since you just changed it. Second check all the wire connections, battery cables, etc to ensure that nothing is loose. If all this is good then you probably have a bad altenator and just a weird coincidence that it happened at the same time you changed the belt.

Thanks for the reply. I figured out that alternator went bad. I've to agree that was a weird co-incidence.
