94 3.4L camshaft removal help

Putting a 94 3.4 into a 73 MG and doing a refresh. Down to getting the cam out. Block is bare except for the cam and the "plug" thing where the distributer used to go. I assume I have to get this out first. HOW? The looks to be a welch plug in the top of it. Do I need to pull that. Yes, the clamp is off and I can turn it easily. Just can't pull up.

Second: This engine does not have roller lifters. Is it supposed to if it's a 94? How elae would I ID it. It came from a recycler who pulled it from a 94 Camaro.

Thanks a lot.

Tom

If the clamp is off the oil pump drive, pull the entire thing up, or tap a scraper under it, its ok if you scratch the bottom, it is sealed with an o-ring on the body, leave the weltch plug alone
