1995 3.4 V6 starts then dies, please advise
I recently replaced the valve cover gaskets on my '95 3.4, while doing this i decided to go ahead and do new plugs, wires, and upper intake manifold gasket while she was opened up. Also put in a new IAC valve and vacuum check valve (where the 3 vacuum lines meet under the hood). Took my time and did everything very cleanly and was very careful. Ive got everything plugged back in.
Car sat with battery unplugged for ~2weeks. Got it back together and went to crank it up and it cranks great! (got new starter recently) then immediately dies quickly. It does not sound like mechanical failure anywhere. Ive checked the schrader valve (no pressure gauge unfortunately) but fueled sprayed out good so i know fuel is getting to the fuel rail just fine. Im thinking maybe its the VATS system? didnt think to look at the security light but will check later. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. And yes plugs were properly gapped and wires plugged in correct order. Thanks guys! |

Sounds like possibly the VATS aswell. I'd check out that security light on the dash.

MAF sensor maybe?
I had that issue too then i realized I forgot to plug my MAF back in. Pluggd it back and it started right up. |
