Okay, I think this getting off topic. It is NOT young people with V8 cars that are the problem. Its those idiots with any type of car that isn't that fast, that overly exaggerates its quickness. For example my father in law had an 87(possibly 88?) Vette when it was new, he took a ride in my 02 Z28, and then proceeded to tell me how his Vette was soooo much faster, and could whip the Z28. I tried to explain that wasn't possible, but he wouldn't listen, and finally I gave up... So it isn't an age, or a car type owner. Its their can't lose/can't rationalize the truth mentality.

 

Old people driving is just as bad as young drivers, if not worse.

I remember Horsepower TV put a supercharger [I think Vortec] on their Project Nightmare Mustang vert. I think it would out the same amount of RWHP as a stock LT1 put out. Sad.

 

It put down 285 rwhp, about the same as a mildly bolt on LT1 or a stock LS1. I've seen a LOT of 4.6 Mustangs with the supercharger and always thought they would be putting down a lot more HP than that.

BTW, I thought that the Project Nightmare Mustang looked sweet. That is one of my favorite body styles for the Mustang.

I really wish I had a quiet exhaust because everyone would always wanna race me. But with a GMMG it is kinda hard hiding the sound of the car.

 

the guys that are diks would be the vette owners. i may get one out of 10 races against them. they are too cocky and think their car is the best casue they spent over 50 grand on it. little do they know they would have trouble hanging with me

 

Were I live most people(Mostly mustangs and imports) will rev at me when we pass in oppisite directions or they ride my bumper in heavy traffic knowing I wont get on it because of the traffic. But when we are on a stretch of road where there is no traffic they seem to stay way back?
Then there's a sweet looking LT1 Z28 in town that I dont even know the guy but we pass each other going the other way at least 2-3 times a week and we both wave every time even the first time we passed.

And the 2 quotes that I've heard more than any other in the 15 years of street/drag racing is:

" When I get done building my car I'll race ya and beat you",
I tell them I hear that all the time and to come back if and when they build the car.So far no one has.

And my favorite.

" I know this guy who has a car that can beat you"
I'm like so.But you yourself dont have a car that can beat me so dont even go there because I myself have friends with 1400+hp small blocks and run 7's on 10.5" tires and low 8's on drag radials.

 

Just wait until you run up against one that has virtually no bar…but bit's like a beotch!!!

 

I ran into one that had hella bark and bite. It was a 86 with a saleen kit on it and was the prettiest blue I have ever seen. It sounded wicked and with my 75 shot in (this was a few months ago) he pulled my by about a car and a half. I stopped and talked to the guy, really nice, but shady about what all it had done to it.

 

That’s my problem. I'm completely honest about what I've done to my car…and have no problems popping the hood. So I've already blow my *stealthy cover* in my area.

 

yeah me too, i like to show off my nitrous kit so im always popping my hood and purging on people LOL

 

Good kill period. Maybe those kids learned a valuable lesson. There's always going to be someone faster...always.

 

Believe me they didn't learn, they are still talking **** and now want me to race one of there friends with a RSX and nitrous. I told them to name a time and place and it will happen.

 

This time raise the stakes and make'em put some dollars up. Just be careful and study your opponent beforehand. You know someone knows something about the juiced RSX and just need to ask the right people.

 

All the Mustang owners in San Diego, look at me like they're sooo much cooler than me, then do a ricer flyby. I seriously get at least 1-2 ricer flyby's by Mustangs each week. I used to laugh and ignore them, but now it's just old.

What's worse is that there's no Camaro camaraderie(sp?) with the few fellow Camaro's I see. They generally don't even look my way if I see another nice one, trying to give them thumbs up or something.
