What Kind Of 911 was this

I had an interesting race this morning. I was on my way to work and was approching the freeway on ramp when this porsche 911 comes flying past me to get on the ramp first. I thought this was a little stupid since the on ramp is a two lane for quite a ways until it turns to one at the top. Well the light turned red and we both had to stop anyway. I gave him a few revs to see if he would bite and he looked at me and smiled. when the light turned green we both took off. His car seemed to lag a bit which was good for me because I had to try and keep from spinning. We were side by side through first and second but when I hit third I started to pull ahead. When we reached the top, I was @ about 110MPH and far enough ahead that I was able to see him in my rear view mirror. This was one of those 911's with the fat rear fender wells. I always thought these were Turbo cars and real fast. He caught up to me on the freeway and I gave him some more revs but he didn't want to go again. Was he just playing with me or are these cars just not what I expected .

The non turbo models arent the fastest things in the world...somewhere in the lower/mid 13's..by looking at your mods id imagine it was probably one of them

Sounds like an older (late 80's) Carrera 2.

I'm not the most knowledeable person on porches but I believe porche offered a 911 that looks like the turbo (fat fenders and such) but in fact is a N.A. car, called something like carrera 4s maybe , I think they had awd too....

There are a lot of these 911's running around here in Tucson but this is the first one I had a chance to play with. There is a guy that works across the streed, he has an Acura TL and does a fly by on me every time I see him but I haven't been able to catch him at a point where I can take him down.
