Question Taurus SHO

On my way to a doctors appointment i had a guy driving a SHO messing with me. He rode my bumper then pulled beside me then pulled behind me. He did this a few times then eventually flew by. There was a considerable amount of traffic so i really wasn't thinking of racing. My question is, would it have been worth my while? What kinda number do they put out? It was a late 80's early 90's style. It had an annoying fart cannon muffler on it that sounded horrible. Would i have got beat?

I don't know how well they respond to mods but they have alot of ground to make up to beat your Z28. Here are some factory stock times.

1989 Ford Taurus SHO 6.6 15.2
1991 Ford Taurus SHO 7.7 16.2
1992 Ford Taurus SHO 7.5 15.4
1993 Ford Taurus SHO 7.5 17.0
1995 Ford Taurus SHO 7.7 15.8

Vs.

1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.7 14.2

I was in traffic so it really wouldnt have been to fun racing 10 feet to a bumper of another car. He definetly tried to get me to race. I just never knew anything about the SHO's.

Stock or Cat-Back SHO vs. you - You win.
Turbo or Supercharged SHO vs. you - depends on how heavily modded the SHO is.
A few stock SHO's run high 14's.
Modded run in the 13's.

The fastest SHO I have seen was turbocharged, and even then it was a high 12 low 13.

I doubt this guy had much more than the fart can. You should've given it a go, and shown him how the General makes cars

Far too many SHO owners have the idea the SHO is unstoppable from a roll.

A turbocharged SHO just sounds like a blown-up motor waiting to happen. Those things seem to have LOTS of issues with reliability and I'm not saying that because I don't like Yamaha motors - I race Motocross on one.
