Smacked two power adder Hondas, a SRT-4 and lost to a Stang

Another great night at the grudge races. First up was a '90 LX 5.0 automatic with cam, full intake, full exhaust, pulleys, 3.73 gears, DRs and a mild stall. He got 1.5 cars out of the hole with my mediocre launch and I pulled him very slowly all the way down and lost by half a car. I would have won if we could have gone another couple hundred feet. Next up was a near stock SRT-4 5-speed. I got about 3 cars out of the hole on him and he pulled back about 1 car and lost by 2 to the 1/4 mile (I forgot to turn off the traction control, luckily I still won). Then a turboed 1.6 liter motor swapped CRX on street tires was next. I got about 4 cars on him from the launch and pulled more, won by about 10-13 cars. Next up a 1.6 liter V-tech w/75 shot on street tires. I got about 4 cars out of the hole and walked him to the tune of 10+ cars in the 1/4. I tried to get this bone stock '01 WS6 6-speed to run but he was being a wuss making excuses. He said he ran 13.5 at 107 at sea level, so it would have been close. He said he didn't know who would win and said the lights were messed up? I told him to come find me when he was ready to race, he never did and went home. What is with these stock LS1 guys? Also a turboed Civic and a stage 2 SRT-4 on DRs beat this poor driving guy in a Z06. A turbo 2.0 240sx only lost by about 4 cars to a procharged LS1. The LS1 guy said his car ran mid to high 11s at sea level. Fast 4 cyl. The fastest 4 cyl. car was a turbo Corolla with 25+ psi, stripped car, slicks, etc. He got pounded hard by a number of mean V8 drag cars. The V8s own again! What else is new. I've NEVER been to the track when the fastest car wasn't a V8, and i've gone 100+ times in the past 15 years.

Ennis, Tx., Friday(8/7) test and tune. Fastest car out was a super comp 4banger. He ran a 7.2 @ 173mph out of the throttle a 3/4 track...

Oh, and he ran against a T/C'd hatch that ran 12.0 @ 117mph. Depressingly, either way I'd have had my butt handed to me.

Don't know the rules to the class, but it was this car/guy. The Summit Cavalier:

Edit-
I was wrong, last year this was a 4banger running a best of 7.02@ 195. They've now stepped up to a 3.5L V6 in the mid 6's.

Do you know how much boost they are running? Also race weight and other engine, trans, and rear end facts? Impressive times, though.

I'd love to race you. The stock LS1 guys around here are a bunch of p*ssies! The modded LS1 crowd is a lot better though. Trouble is, most of the modded LS1s around here are heavily modded and run 11s or 12s and would seriously hand me my ***.

You would waste me from a roll. We might be close in the 1/4 mile depending how bad you spun. You need tires bad! Go with BFG DRs or E.T. streets. Probably the DRs since you have that weak 10 bolt.

No way! I will probably break an axle sooner or later on this 8.8 with 4000 rpm launches on 12 psi heated DRs.

lol I gotta launch at 1500 and still smoke em....and if I get DR's I still have to launch from like 1500...cuz if I dump it from 4000 and get traction....my rear end is done...WTF did GM put that POS in a high powered car? Makes NO sense.

No it doesn't. They should have gone with a 31 spline, 12-bolt minimum. The Stang should have a 5.4 motor and a T-56 trans, though. These cheap musclecars always lack something.
