Raced my buddy in his GT.
Went to the track and got in five runs, ran 14.56;14.55;14.72;14.55;and 14.47. The last run was when my buddy and I raced each other. We both had our best runs that we've ran in our cars. I was amazed he cut a .037 rt to my.367, but was going passed him when I shifted into 3rd. I ran a 14.47 to his 15.49. His mustang is a 97 GT with bbk intake and shorties, I had a blast.
It's a realistic "everyday" kind of timeslip from a typical older LT1. We'd need mph figures to know if it's the driving or power output that's giving those timeslips.
Nobody believes in the 14.2 sec *properly driven* automatic LS1 timeslips either, but they do happen. It just goes to prove that anything can happen at the strip, and it's why it's better to go out there & get actual timeslips than just guess at it.

Time slips are in the car, but I was trapping 98.xx in all the 14.5 and the 14.4 runs, and the car just turned to 150.000 miles last sunday, but I did expect to go faster, especially with it being cool out, ~70, in FL that's cool weather. I can probably launch better, just need some more practice.
I ran a 14.1 w/ 273's and a cai and w/ only a few passes ever under my belt, car also only had 20k miles or so though at the time...1st pass every was a 14.9 bone stock

I'm pretty sure that I have the shifting down, it's just learning what rpm to launch at and how to play with the clutch. What I was doing for launching was bring the rpm to just barely over 2k, have the clutch where it is just barely disengaged, then let out on the clutch and nail the throttle. Car would spin some then grab and laydown, then wake up and go, need to get rid of the fall on it's face thing.
There is something worn in your car. I bet it was beat before it ever hit the track, no offense.
Also dont get your hopes up of hitting 1.9 60s and hitting 13.8 "as is" most people are not going to gain 6 tenths from learning to drive better.
You should be low 14s though. I would imagine that you could hit 14.15-2 once you learn to launch it. Try slipping the clutch, dont just mash and go. With my tires I have to leave at 1100 rpms.
EDIT: Just seen that you have a flowmaster aswell. That right there is a problem. Its not known as "slowmaster" for nothing.

I am hopefully in the same boat as the OP, but I am going to the track this weekend for the first time with the car. Granted I've raced it probably 10 times or so never offically.
Taking me out of the question what should the car run? It only has 40k on it now, so its nowhere near tired. I have Fuzion zri's as rubber, which isnt exactly a drag radial but I figure they are better then all seasons since they are marketed as a street/strip tire.(They came w/ the car).
The car will be running in 45 F Track Elevation 632 feet above sea level.

With that kind of air I would expect you to get anywhere from 13.7 to 13.9 @100+.
If you cannot drive or cant launch you could go much higher.
I went from 100MPH traps to 102MPH traps by just running in cooler weather.

Yeah I know flowmasters don't flow very well, was on the car when I got it, and I wouldn't doubt it that the car has had a rough life, I had the put the thermostat and pcv valve and tube back on the car when I got it, so I'm sure driver's side doesn't have the cmpression it should, when I changed plugs drier's side had oil up the threads and pass side was dry. I don't expect to get under 14 with it, but the 14.15&14.2 I think I can possibly get to with launching it better. I have Sum. HTRZ 315/35 on the back with less than 2k miles on them. Going back next friday so I'll have some new times, and hopefully better.
