My first race of the summer and I LOST !!!! NOOOOOOOO !!!

I finally got the car back from the shop on Thursday. Went out today and was just drivin' around wasting gas as usual listening to the sound my new LT's had given me and I see a new Subaru Impreza (Don't know what year it was but it couldn't have been more thanj a year old cause it had that huge scoop on the hood) Anyways, it was silver and he was driving right up my ***. We came to a clearing in traffic and I changed lanes so he could pull up along side. He did so and kept his foot on the gas. I dropped the hammer too but this guy just kept pulling away from me I was going flat out and this guy was almost a car length ahead of me and just stayed there. We finally let off the gas, and a bunch of flames came out his 8" Fart cannon. The worst part is there's this fat chinese guy with like, 6 chins behind the wheel wearing this leather jactet thinking he's all bad ***. He gave me this look like "yeah buddy you don't stand a chance" as he drove by.

I am so pissed off and discusted with myself right now I swear I think I could just crawl under a rock and stay there forever. I've NEVER lost to an import before. I just can't believe it.

Granted, had I hooked my 175 shot of Nitrous back up it would have been no contest but I just got my car back yesterday and hadn't had the time to re-install it. Regardless. I have no excuses. He won and I lost. PERIOD. I'm feeling sick to my stomach right now. I hate the world. I hate my car. I don't even want to drive it.

First thing tomorrow morning I'm going to hook up the juice and go out and fill the bottle.
GRRRRRRR !! I'm so mad. How could this have happened ???

This may very well be one of the worst day's in my entire life. I got beat by an import

Shame on me. I've let down not only the fbody owners out there but all the domestic owners aswell. I'm sorry

wow ..... um wow

dont be so hard on yourself. if it was an sti then they come with 300hp if he put on anything its probably over the 350 mark. and the car is made of paper thin aluminum so they don't weigh much. its kinda cool you can kick a hole in them, not that i have done it ha ha ha. what speed did he pull from and to what speed were you in the right gear? what were tha other factors.

if you really did loose straight up, that means you need more mods its a good excuse to dump more money into your car

again don't feel too bad every once in a while you have to loose

You lost to the asian version of Jabba the Hutt? Shame on you.

Just playin with ya.

Anyway, now's the time to start looking at cam and head packages so Jabba won't stand a chance next time.

I've already got the Hot cam and ported/polished heads with 2.02/1.6 valves. That's what makes losing to a ****ing subaru so painful.

LOL, they can be pretty quick. If it had the big hood scoop then you ran into an STI (most likely, guess he could have gotten an STI scoop ). I am a bit suprised that he took a heads and cam car from a roll. They run about 13.1 @ 103 at the track stock. Trap isn't very good but the ET can be great (couple have run high 12s with a great driver).

Like said, they can be made to go pretty fast. Full turbo-back, intake, and boost controller got one of the vendors (Godspeed) over 300hp at the wheels. Gotta keep in mind also that it is an approx 3200lb car. There are plenty of WRX and STI that are running low 12s and high 11s, and of course plenty going faster. Don't be too hard on yourself or your car, I'm sure you lost to one of the faster ones.

When better engine management comes out within the next couple months then I hope to have mine running at least low 12s.

I'll let you know what my turbocharged 383 ends up making when it's in the car and running.

A. There's always somebody faster.

B. Add some more mods or get used to it The STI is far from the fastest import out there. You're lucky you didn't run into a 600 hp supra or something....you may have killed yourself

An sti from a stop would obliterate you unless you are on serious drag tires but even then without a good burnout to get them hot it would have been ugly. But from a roll with heads cam lt1 should have been your race even without spray would think you would have like 450 engine hp.That must have been one modded subaru. You can of course buy big turbos for them and the sad part is they just bolt on and are pretty cheap.

I am lucky to have three v8s but also did buy an awd talon for fun all year round when the other three are stored for our horrible winters. And like all my cars I couldn't leave it stock. The talon will be around 500 engine hp and I didnt even buy the biggest turbo and the bigger ones that give 600 and 700 hp are the same price as my 500 hp one.But of course with the biggest you put more stress on drivetrain etc.Still not much will likely hang with a 500hp engine awd 3000 pound talon. But I will for sure run it against my other cars with buddy driving them.

And can assure you though that on the street none of my v8s will have a chance off the line and wonder if they will be able to run that talon down either. My ls1 is around 450 now and have nos for it to install. My 80 have plans for 6.71 big block. But again on the track on slicks or serious drag tires the v8s have a good chance against the import awd cars.
And even fwd turbo cars can do some amazing things these days.Turbos just work too damn well.
But hey my dream car is still a twin turbo big or small block car.
Fact still get tempted to maybe do that to my ls1..you never know..
Now get that spray back on there and kick some import butt..LOL

Actually, I probably would have beaten him if the race was from a dead stop. My car's traction is so good I can't even spin the tires off the line. Not even on the bottle. I've got a couple pics some friends took of my car launching on the street and one of them has the front left tire about a half inch off the ground. I'll find it and post it up.

Your kidding, right? You are on street tires with that kind of traction? What's your secret? No rubber even with the bottle on? You must have the traction control on all the time. You CAN'T spin the tires off the line? What about foot to the floor, nitrous on and side stepping the clutch?
I've got about $2500+ in suspension mods and I run on MT/ET streets 26x11.5 aired to about 12 psi. It's an automatic, and yes I spray out of the hole. No wheelspin.

When it rains....well that's another story

Check out my website to see the suspension mods I've done so far. I'll be updating it tomorrow with pics of the LT's I just put in. Along with some more suspension shots.
