Raced an 04 GT tonight with boltons and gears. He wanted to go from a rol... about 10 mph. To begin with he had a half car lead on me from the get go. I said to do 3 honks... he did one. By the time i got on the gas he was a car ahead of me... but don't fear. The ole ls1 kicked in and caught up with him and i beat him by about a cars length. I wasnt happy with the race though because i should have beat him by more. but what can you say... its a Rustang.

 

Don't sweat it. He jumped the count, and still lost... He should know he would have lost by that much more with a fair start.

 

Yeah...let's lump every Mustang driver out there as a cheater because a guy you raced jumped you in one race.

Kinda like the ole 3rd gen stereotype......Come to think of it...that would apply to MOST of the Fourth Gens I have been seeing lately. Beat to hell and ragged out.

Come to think of it my healiner is sagging and my headlights do that aweful "grrrrrrrr" thing. New motor gears are on the way. Back to topic: It's funny that some people still think 99-04 m5 GTs are as fast as m6 LT1 s stock for stock, let alone LS1 s for that matter.

 

He probably knew he had to jump the count, LS1 has a huge advantage out of the gate over a 04GT

hah i didnt mean to get anything started... i mean we are on the CAMARO message boards. Are we not? I didn't mean to say every mustang driver is a cheater but this guy for sure was... and then after the race he told me he beat me which didnt make me to happy.

 

Of course you going to hear that from a Rustang owner with a gt. They are just mad they can't beat us; unless they pony has a supercharger in it.

 

im sure he had 4:10's thats why in 1st gear he would be taching out ready to punch it! but then once he reasches 3rd the 4.6 really shows its weakness

 

You mean .... the single overhead cam 4.6 shows its weakness...lol

The dohc is like the LS1 in many ways as it has a 3rd gear high rpm pull like a freight train.

 

In the real world they are even stock for stock.
I still think it's funny every year the LT1 get's a tenth or two faster, and 10hp/tq more as the years go bye.

 

Yes we are in a CAMARO forum, and incase you guys forgot, mustangs are our rivals, of course there is gonna name calling, on both ends, harmless fun, just get over it. If someone talks **** about camaros it doesnt bother me, its when they personnally talk **** about mine, then you have a reason to be upset.
