LS1 vs LT1

It was a good run.

We have an abandoned airstrip in town that's about a mile long.

40 MPH roll in 2nd, we roll, we kinda just took off together. (My launch is terrible, he has practice.)

shift to third, he pulls half a car,
he puts inches on me rolling through third, he shifts to 4th and we're even, I shift to 4th and lose half a car.

a bit over 100 he's got a half car between my front and his rear, and he hits 5th.

I pull 2 cars ahead to 120 and we both quit.

Moral: He kills me on shifts and puts 1/4 to 1/2 a car on me in from 2nd to 5th.

Pics:

Him (T-Top Install)

he has full bolt ons and 4.10s plus a good tune.

And the guy is a better driver than I.

He's also had the car for 4 years.

When you say full bolt ons, give us a little more detail if you can. I would like to know what he had.

Headers + 3" single pipe through a single dynomax (awesome sound)
4.10 ring gear (broke his 3.73)
Good Falken Tires
Moroso Intake

I know there's more but i don't bother him.

He's on the forum somewhere.
And he'll tell you he only beat my driving.

Get a SLP LM exhaust. It sounds great on Mustangs and a little less on fbodies. But then again the LS1 is faster soooo..... people wont be hearing it long.

Nice run.
WHat does the TA run@ the track? In my bone stock LS1 I managed a 13.1 on street tires "terrible 60"
I am back in an LT1 with headers and gears only the LT1 managed a 12.8" My best friend joe at the wheel muahahahahaha"

I have no ill intentions but I have to raise a flag on the 12.8 with even LTs and gears as you didn't specify what headers you have.

Haven't seen anyone do it or come even close without alot of weight reduction.

Really? Come to Cordova and see mine get 12.8's next year with the manifolds and fully loaded.

Because it was a bit wet, and the ONLY place to race was a highway up the mountain.

And being that he is a better driver, this was the ONLY contest. I call it like I see it.

Haven't been to a 1/4 yet.

The LT1 ran a 13.7 before the tune/gears.

And I'm not saying my TA times in the 1.8th, but my 60' was like a 2.15
It was my first time at the strip in a stick. and I KNOW I was terrible.

I wrote it off because the fast Fbodys were all running 8.9s with DRs.

I dont give a crap of you raise the flag. It happened and on a stock tune to boot. I wasnt driving it so I cant take credit for being the great M6 driver but it happened and there are plenty of folks to witness it.

I dont get on here to impress people.

It has regular long tube headers " Pacesetter" And 410 gears.

I had this conversation with Joe when he ran the 12.8. He had already ran a few 12.9's and we where discussing the response from the people on the forum who dont know as much as they think they do.
TTT
Another thing, it was pulling a 1.9 60.

Way to represent.
The camaro ran a 13.1@105 with shorties and 4:10's. FOrgot to mention a CAI..duh
It has 220k miles on it. Now it has a fresher engine out of a wrecked LT1 vette with about 14k on the motor. But its 100% stock.
The 13.1 was ran with 201k origninal miles on the clock. Original motor.
