Killed a 1992 Supra by a car!

I killed a early 90s Supra today and he actually gave me a run for my money! I dont know much about supras but I know this one was turbo( I heard it spool) and he seemed preety impressed I ran with him, I have heard of some Supras being Crazy Fast what do yall think he had in it? Is it a worthy kill or just some crappy car I barley beat?

it was probably a TT or maybe a BPU supra. If it was a single big turbo he would be long gone.

If it was a 92 Supra that's the 3rd gen and even the turbo version is absolutely no match for a LS1. I think they have 225 hp or so. If it was the new MKIV 93+ car it was probably a relatively stock turbo.

According to all my ricer buddies, they're experts by the way, nothing can beat a supra. Some say they were built by the hand of God himself.

Anyway, nice kill. You race him from a stop or a roll?

The only supra I've ever beat was my buds 93+ NA supra

Pulling up on a Supra is like a mystery game....you never know whats going to happen. Sometimes you will beat them and other times they will make you feel like a moron. Sounds like you found a good match however...good kill

If anyone can name a car that's built better than the 93-98 Supra, at ANY price, let me know. These cars can reliably make 7 or 800 horsepower. Some have gone over 1000 hp on the stock engine and tranny. I've put over 70k hard miles on 2 different supras. Both making over 500 rwhp. Never even had a hiccup from them. You have to be an idiot to destroy one.

I had a 1991 supra turbo before my z28 and as mentioned stock they are pretty damn slow. However 1000-1500 dollars and they are running ~300 rwhp mine made about 450 @21psi at the wheels when i got rid of it. not much down low, but it could hang right with just about anything on the highway pretty easily. I know a guy runs a 12 flat with under 2K invested in his car(really good driver). What i'm saying is they(or any turbo car really) respond very well to mods and can be pretty quick for cheap. Definately a good worthy Kill!

Actually I am saying that. Most exotics aren't really known for their build quality anyway. I'm not saying the Supra is a better car or nicer than those listed, but I doubt any of those cars would handle an extra 700 hp as well as the Supra.

That's the car I was thinking about when I typed that. The GN/GNX will definitely handle gobs of power, but I don't think it's build quality is on par with the Toyota.

True, and I don't know enough about those cars to say that they couldn't handle it, I've never owned one. I guess I shouldn't have said "at any price" because the arguement is stupid once price is factored out. Once you get into a certain class of car, like a Ferrari or Lambo, then it really doesn't matter how much power they can handle stock because price really isn't an issue for their owners. People don't go out and by an f430 cause it's a great car to mod. So I'm going to retract what I said and say this instead: In it's price range, the Supra has the best combo or modability and reliability of any car ever built.
