W/ your mod list it looks like you beat the driver, unless you were racing 6's

Actually, most of the Cars you mentioned Antz, are a drivers race with a stock LT1 car. Ive yet to see someone IN PERSON, run, or have the slips where they ran a 14.0 or faster with a stock/very near stock car.

Their all hard to get good times with. You try launching a RX7 with a 1.3L Wankel and not bogging it off the line or roasting the tires. Its tough. I drove two. I speak from experience on this one.

Try launching a 3000 GT or Steath TT. If you dont want to break parts you launch it low in the RPM's and get 14's out of it. If you dont care and have deep pockets, tach it up and let er rip. Then they actually can run 13's stock.

The 300 ZX's, I've heard of them running high 13's stock. But thats like seeing the LT1's that run low 13's, and LS1's that run 12's stock. It happens. At negative elevation. And cold temps. With Drag Radials. Power Shifted. And by an experienced drag racer.

Every single thing ive seen out of any of them cars were NOT impressive. Yet to see one that trapped higher than 99ish stock. I mean, dont get me wrong, their quick. I respect them and dont really consider them rice. Im just saying, their not all 13 second cars like their owners think they are. You think its hard to launch a F-Body without bogging or bursting the tires loose, try one of them cars. And with the AWD ones, its just scary your going to break something so most owners drive them like they have a vagene.

The trick with AWD is moderation. You can't leave off idle but you can't leave at redline either. A quick slip from 4500 will net nice 60ft's and no breakage. Dump the clutch and you're more likely to break something. I've done it for over 15 years and haven't broken anything yet.

As long as you aren't counting maintenance items to bring the car up to proper operating condition (we're talking some relatively complicated machinery that's 15+ years old), it is actually very cheap to go fast in some turbo cars. Throw a MBC on an otherwise stock Stealth and you'll get 13.30s at 103 mph (I did it on a 140k+ mi stock car). A $300 downpipe and other cheap mods and it's 12s. By then though you'll have worn out the stock clutch and it's a never-ending money pit. Then again, most cars are when you've added 50% to the stock horsepower. My current car feels like about a 13.0 @ 104-105 and I'm no more than $700 into it.

Notice I said "some" turbo cars are cheap to mod. That's because the poor bastards who own Subaru or Nissan vehicles have fewer vendors to choose from and most have drunk the KoolAid and will follow only prescribed "staged" mods from their favorite vendor. There's no experimentation, no thinking for themselves, just mindless buying of vastly overpriced upgrades.
