Another run in with Mach 1, and more (track)

Went to the track again last night. My best for last night was a 13.806 @99.74mph still got a crappy 2.19 60' though. Anyway I didn't get to actually race the mach 1 but i talked to him and saw him run a few times. He ran a couple of 13.9's and a 14.4. His car was completely stock and a M5. I didn't want to tell him he should be running low 13's. I beat a Grand National that ran a 14.1. I got beat by a 2001 Cobra that ran a 13.4. I can't remember the numbers exaclty because i'm at work. I also saw a new M6 GTO run a 13.9 and a 14.2. My friend in his WRX ran a 13.49. Saw a SRT4 run a 12.4.

Most of the times at this track are a little bit below average. Seeing how it's only $10 to run.

Meh dont bother telling him he should be running low 13s. Most people cant take a stock mach1 and run even a mid 13. Theyre always talking about 1/4 mile times (ricers especially) and they've NEVER been to the track. Although id be happy with your times in that car, good job man!

Nice runs , I imagine it is hard to get traction with the 3.73's so get some dr's and a nice stall and watch those times drop.

Yeah traction is a little tricky. A few days before I went to the track i was going to buy some cheap wheels and put ET streets on them for track night....until the total reached $480 for crappy black wheels and tires. I decided i could almost get Mac Mids for that much. And i can't really put drag radials on my regular wheels since i have to drive this car regularly.

I was very happy with my times, almost a 13.7. I would just like to see what she would run with a 2.0 60'. A funny thing was that i was beating my friend that just installed pacesetter LT's on his 95 M6.

LaRue by Marion, One correction on the original. We watched the video tape and the Cobra i raced was a '03+ that makes me feel a lot better about him running away from me. his time was 13.492 at 106.18mph

i have nothing against Mach 1s, i actually think they look pretty nifty and i would probably pick one up if i had the money..but garage perfectly described a friend of mine who just purchased a mach 1..he told me it will be running 12s all day long (it is stock by the way)..but then again this is coming from someone who has driven a bone stock 89 5.0 all his life..he also told me he smokes C5s

Good runs.

What did the WRX have done to it to run 13.49? Do you remember his trap speed and 60'?

Yeah, but tires will help the e.t. a lot more on average than headers. Tires also give the driver a lot of confidence and consistency on the launch instead of worrying about blowing the launch all the time.

True that about the tires. My best time this weekend was a 13.8 @104.2, best trap was 106.9 (at 14.1 ). Drag radials of e/t's would have helped a bunch on the track we ran on. I did beat on 04 Mach 1 auto, he ran a 14.0 on my run that I got the 106.9. 60 foot times were horrible; 2.4,2.3, you get the idea about sticky tires.

2.4 60's won't help your times, that's for sure. Does your track have really bad prep or what?
