96-97 Camaro SS M6 versus 98-00 Camaro z28 AUTO
Of course you did
You said you knew how to spell velcro (insinuating you misspelled it on purpose) to which I replied:
"of course you did"
Meaning of course you knew how to spell velcro
Stock vs Stock, the LS1 is clearly the winner by a half second ET. My stock LT1 was only good for 14.3. I couldn't get it into the 13s until I put the HotCam in. But then again, I don't powershift or use drag radials. (I like to be able to drive my car home afterwards).
Of course, with a few modifications, all bets come off the table.

Would I do that?
I mean come on. I drive a LS1, been a member here and at LS1tech for years and I used goofy smilies in each reply. You would think it was obvious that I was just messing around and busting chops
God bless
Ok, now that the sarcasm show is over. How about you address my original point.
Your similarly modded LS1 and my LT1 would make for a great heads up race. Doesn't that throw a wrench in your theory that any LS1 will dominate any LT1 and to think otherwise is laughable?
And before you think I don't know what the other side is like, I have owned an LS1 F-body as well. It was just the slower of the two
Point is, although not the norm, it does happen and probably more often than you think.

There is no doubt in my mind that I could have a 11.9 car if I changed the stall & intake. That would put me .6 quicker which is definately closer to "the norm". And that's not even considering how fast I could get with 3.73 gears and a underdrive pulley
Now we all know that there have been some M6 LS1's who hit 12.9 @ 108 stock. I wonder what your mod list on those cars could do? Probably better then 12.5 but I'm just guessing.
Now want to talk about the bolt-on records? Probably not but here it is.
The quickest bolt-on LS1 runs 10.8 @ 122.
The quickest bolt-on LT1 runs 11.8 @ 113.
I wonder how much of a drivers race those two would be to each other? How about world records?
LS1 world record is 6.86 @ 205. LT1 world record is 8.08 @ 172. Drivers race indeed. Now we could talk about cam only records or heads/cam NA records but it won't get any better.
Any way you want to slice it the LS1 has more potential. The average LS1 will run a solid .4-.6 faster then the average LT1 in stock or close to stock trim. That kind of gap happens far more often then some LT1 owners want to believe.
I hope that I addressed it to your satisfaction. And I say that with no sarcasm at all.

But my best is a 12.310 so a 12.29 is definately in my future. At least once I get the right mix of low gas, low temps and low humidity anyway. And with a little weight reduction a 12 flat is easily obtainable.
But to be 100% honest, I am not very concerned with a 12.0 or even 11's. I have a LME L92 416 ci shortblock with ETP LS7 heads waiting to go in at the end of this season. That's why I am not adding a LS6 intake or Yank SS4000 converter. Instead I'll be looking at a LS7 intake, 4L80E swap and a NX 200 wet kit.
I'll be looking for 10's NA and 9's on spray next season. The rest of this season I will be content with low 12's

Funny thing.....you're alone. Everyone knows the truth, as well as seeing the numbers. So keep it up slick, you just look more like an *** every time you post.
