95 3.4 Vs 02 3.8 stang

After work last nite me and my friend decided to have a little heades up his mustang and my camaro. he has an 02 3.8 L mustang with a 5 speed and short throw shifter and i have a 95 camaro 3.4 automatic. we had a run and i left him behind like two cars is that normal. well we did it twice and i took him the two times.

Both cars are right around the same for 1/4 mile times. Both do low 16s to high 15s stock.

Good race

BS. I've owned both, the Camaro 3.4 automatic was a absolute dog. The Mustang 3.8 automatic,on the other hand, was quite fun to drive and felt alot faster than the Camaro. If i felt like it,i could dig out an old Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords where they got a stock 3.8 5speed Mustang to run a 14.9 quarter mile.....but you're going to have to take my word, because that issue is buried somewhere in my closet.
I was really bummed out after i bought my Camaro new in '95,because i believe the 3.8 went into the F-body that next summer and i always wished i had known about that,i would have waited. The car was gorgeous though,i couldn't go anywhere without someone asking me about it. The two Mustangs i've had..........zero compliments, zero comments, other than from other Mustang owners. Oh well.

The Stang is about a second and a half faster stock. Driver error is very apparent here.
