You have no chance unless he misses a gear, MR2 is lighter than your car and is pushing more horses,

Are you sure it wasn't 230 rwhp? 330 rwhp seems like an aweful lot for a MR2, even modded.

If it really is 330, that is a very fast MR2, and if he can drive, you are most likely toast.

Remember, turbo dyno #'s are a little deceiving since the HP number doesn't tell the whole story. At what RPM does the turbo kick in? A lot of the turbo 4's don't start making any kind of TQ until 3500-4000 rpm. Below that, they totally suck for TQ.

I think he'll rip you a new one, assuming the car holds together. Thats a whole lot of power for that car.

330HP in an MR2 should be insanely fast.

Did he show you a printout of his dyno run? If he really is at 330 rwhp, your *** is grass and he's the lawnmower!

Remember, you're talking about a car that weighs 2800 lbs that puts down 330 to the rear wheels, with the engine sitting on top of them. He's not going to have traction problems either.

That's an insane amount of power for such a little car. I wouldn't even try against him.

Him = 2,5k LBs give or take and 330RWHP

+

You = 3,4k LBs give or take and prolly 250ish RWHP

= You turned into toast

A couple of thing to note- First, a boosted car that light WILL be harder to drive and if he's on radials, it's possible that you could get out enough off the line to hold him through most of the 1320.

Second, WTF is all this talk of 300+rwhp being "a lot" or "too much" for a MR2??? Read up fellas! There are A LOT of guys running big boosted applications pushing 500+ to the wheels...

The odds are against you, but you DO have a chance...

He's gonna bust your ***. If I was you I wouldn't even waste my time unless you get some more mods soon.

I would say just race him for fun. Unless you really trust him I would suggest you ask for a dyno print out.

Many times people lie right to your face.

There is this kid on another board that wants to race me in his 1991 Integra. He was throwing out all kind of random honda engine codes that didn't actually exist claiming he had done this and that.

Point being, people lie so they can win by default.

Not that 330HP in an MR-2 is unbelievable, just always be skeptical when people throw out high numbers. Even if the numbers are relatively easy to get.
