So i finally got to race my friend in his SRT-4. We couldnt do it for a while cuz he was getting a new tranny put in after he blew his first one. We've been planning this race ever since he got Stage 2. I was excited ciz i had raced a Stage 1 and walked it no problem.

05 SRT-4: Stage 2 upgrade, Mopar BOV, Mopar CAI.
02 Z28 M6: Stock except for a K&N filter.

We decided to race from a dig. Went to a road by his job that was pretty deserted. We would race from crosstreet to crosstreet. It seemed to be about an 1/8 mile or so. To be honest i was pretty nervous about his car because it is really quick ive been in it.
So the flag man drops his arms and we take off. Since i really cant launch for **** i ended up spinning all through first. But as soon as i hit second i started to pull on him. By the end of the race i had a whole car.
I was really excited and ready for more. So on the way back another guy who came with us had a 01 SS M6 and we went from a stop light. (We left the other spot because cops were coming) This race was a little off though. We ended up getting a light that was on slightly uphill road. So we both had a hard time starting even but it was close when we took off. He got a jump cuz i think he had drag radials. But it was still close we went through three gears then pretty much shut down at the same time and he had about a car and a half on me. I dont think i did that bad for a bone stock Camaro when he had a lid and exhaust.
Anyway it was a good night.

Cliff notes: Raced a Stage 2 SRT, killed it.
Raced a lightly modded SS, got killed.

How much did the SS jump you out of the hole <1car?> I'm surprised it was 1.5 cars at the top of 3rd.

 

Great runs. SRT-4 was only a car behind, wow.

 

Yea he got about a car but we were both trying to launch on an uphill so we were a little uneven from the launch.

Those cars are pretty fast. He didnt have turbo toys either. So with that it probably wouldve been closer.

 

Nice kill and loss. Theres a cocky srt-4 driver around where I live and I want to beat him so bad but I sold my z28 and I'm looking for another one right now. I don't think a 94 Ford Probe GT will even be able to see the tail lights of a stage 2 srt-4 by the end of a race. oh well I hopfully should be getting a Camaro again soon.
