What will make the car launch harder other then shocks??

I just put new slp replacement shocks and sprigns on my car and dont want to change them again.. the car has a problem hooking at the track, what can make the car launch harder or "squat" when it takes off to up the weight transfer?? I was thinking relocation brackets for the LCAs.. or a new panhard rod.. What else??

remove front sway bar ontop of your control arms and relocation brackets.

theres something my mind is trying to add but wont come out, I'm sure someone will add.

but when you replaces you should have went with drag shocks and springs instead of stock replacments.

I'd be willing to bet your stock rubber torque arm mount is torn to ****. Mine was.....unfortunately, it's not worth the effort to change it. If you have $400 to spend, I'd get a Spohn torque arm. Other than that, how about some skinnies up front? :D

Nitto 555Rs in the back and Eagle F1s in the front.. My best 60ft is a 2.0

QCKZ28 05-04-2004 12:43 AM

what tire pressure?

CoUnTryMuZiCZ28 05-04-2004 05:37 AM

18PSI... I wish i could get my 60 ft time down... would lower my ET to where i want it.. What i usually do for a nice launch is bring it up to about 2500 RPM and dump the clutch and it hooks and then as soon as im rolling i stomp the gas..

Removing the front sway bar can give you .10 alone, I'd try that. I run on BFR dr's with 4:10's and usually launch at 4k, got a best of 1.81 60' last time out, I think I need a better clutch to do better than that, I've got an SLP clutch. I also have new LCA's and relocation brackets.

CoUnTryMuZiCZ28 05-04-2004 01:27 PM

Is that on a 10 bolt?

Unfortunately :D

It's been strenthened somewhat. Rear support cover with preload studs, stud kit, solid pinion spacer. 75 or so launches on it so far, lots of them at 4k and it's still holding up fine so I guess they helped :)

QCKZ28 05-04-2004 03:04 PM

here is my setup: no front swaybar, DD sfc, bmr lca's and brackets on the lowest hole (stock height), bfg dr at 19psi, poly TA and rear swaybar bushings, 3.73's, PI 2800 stall.

1st time out with the drag radials,
cut a 1.74 sixty foot, although 3 other passes didnt hook well and the short times varied from 1.94 to 2.06

drag radials are not a consistent as et streets....

You know what you need is two truck inner toobs streched out at the tree and back up into it . This will improve you times.
