Was just checking out UMI's new torque arm, seems to look an awful lot like Spohn's. Which isnt a bad thing i guess, since the Spohn is a great piece.

One thing i dont understand is in this thread on LS1tech.com, the guy from UMI says their tq arm dosent have the "clunk" noise associated with the Spohn piece when putting the car in reverse. As the designs are so similiar, i dont see how the UMI piece wouldnt do this also?

 

If you read through the thread you posted from LS1tech UMI pretty says why. It also says on there site. It says they are using a poly/poly set up when I think the spohn set up is solid on the bottom, also I think the spohn hits the floor and UMI's doesnt?

 

I assume these will fit an LT1 car as well? The only difference should be the exhaust setup.

 

Has anyone used this product yet? The price sure is right.

 

I don't have their unit but I bought SFC's from them when they first came out - very nice product and great customer service. Highly recommend them.

FWIW - i'm going to be running a custom chassis mount TA that will be very inexpensive - the TA will be similar to MadMans TA allowing 3 adjustable heim joints.

I didn't know Umiperformance made a torque arm for the LT1s, last time I was on there site they only had them for 98-02s.
