Suspension upgrades

So here's my list for my z/28. I want it to handle better, ride better, and not wheelhop at the track. The only thing I'm not so sure about are the shocks (don't know crap about shocks) and the sway bars. *Mine are find, except the endlinks and bushings are trashed*. I eventually will have 17x9.5 fronts and 17x11 rears, and would eventually like to swap to a t56 and maybe go autocrossing with it too.

If I could get some experienced imput, that'd be great :)

QA1 shocks (single adjustable front and rears)
Hotchkis lowering springs (1" drop)
UMI LCA/PHB pkg (both 2x adjustable)
UMI SFC (3pt bolt on)
*Strano sway bar set (35mm front, 22mm rear)*

Fine except for the QA1 shocks. They're a good drag shock, not a "handling" shock.

What shocks would be a little better mix of handling and drag racing? I'd love to get some Konis', but I have a $1,400ish budget and the Koni's were something like 600-900 :(

The QA1 are a good shock, but just not for your application. Give Sam Strano a call, for a budget build he will mostly likely recommend the KYB's

I bought some Bilstein HDs 5 years ago for 200 bucks brand new (front and rear) from a BMW supplier. That was really cheap at the time. You might want to look into these as they are more aggressive than the SLP Bilsteins and cost less then the other shocks. Dont remember the place where I bought them though sorry. Maybe call Bilstein directly?
But the car feels/handles great with these shocks.

Subframe connecters dont do anything for handling.. But it does keep the t tops from leaking and less creeks/rattles.

Dont have the 35mm front but went with a 32. The 35 would be a nice piece. Make sure you do your research on the tires you'll be using.. Thats probably the most important piece.

Yeah I would talk to Sam about your set up. He's good about helping people set up their suspensions.
