Stock brake pad issue movement issue

I have all new Stock Brakes on the front of my 96 SS. All but the Hoses is brand new.

On the driver side you can take your finger and move the front pad from side to side, not in and out just side to side. The other side is tight and you cant move it. I thought it was the slider pins at first so I got new ones, didnt help, so I just replaced the caliper, still better not tight.

Is this common or the way they are is there something I am missing??

When you bleed the caliper fluid came out easily? Just a thought maybe a collapsed line on that side.

Its just the Outer pad that is loose and not contacting the rotor like I want it too, the back just has a single groove that you can feel and see on the pad when you take it apart. This kinda thing just tweeks me, maybe I,m to anal and should just let it go.
