I've been meaning to install this thing for a while, but after installing my strano/koni setup and still suffering from steering wheel slop I decided to finally put it in.
Here's the item, and Jason from Advanced Engineering had this shipped to me extremely quick:
http://www.unbalancedengineering.com/Camaro/Rag_Joint/
I used this link from Sick97SS (thanks for the help) found here:http://home.comcast.net/~nstama/ragjoint.htm
First, a couple of notes from the installation:
- Comes out pretty straightforward. Ensure you have the steering wheel clocked properly to allow you the best access to the bolts.
- You don't have to get under your car to disengage it from the rack, but I found that it makes things easier.
- Be aware that the rag joint is RIVETED to the steering linkage. Members have sawed through them and/or drilled them out with great success. After sawing, drilling, and dremeling for several hours I ended up taking it to a shop to have them popped out from their holes. Might want to go ahead and plan to do that if you don't have a shop full of high end tools.
- Reinstallation was a little tricky trying to get it to line up at the two connection points again. Best technique I found was for someone to insert it from the top while guiding it from the under the car.
...as for the results? I could not be happier with my setup!
Despite being a convertible it flat out handles now and the steering is perfectly responsive. Overall a great mod, and for under $50, one of the best suspension mods I've done.
Hope this write up saves someone a little time/pain down the road.

+1 for sure. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. Made a world of difference in my car.Originally Posted by 94ZVert

Went with the Strano Springs, Koni 4/4, Solid 32mm, and hollow 22mm. Other suspension pieces that I already had were Kenny Brown DD subframe connectors, and Spohn LCA's and PHB. Honestly, it's pretty much great for everything (haven't taken it to the track yet though
). I kinda wish I drove it more now that it rides so much better!

Hey guys,
I have a '96 SS convertible and been trying to contact unbalanced engineering for days now and no response to mails, any of you guys who already did it can give me a hand getting a hold of them? Maybe you have a phone number?
My problem is I don't live in the US, I'm from Europe, and I can't very well just use the automated payment on the site for US shipping and expect them to send the kit overseas right?
Thanks
