places for LSD?

anybody know any good shops or online vendors that sell a limited-slip for the '95 Z28? I'm building the car for drift, and it's kinda needed. Any ideas as to customizing one to fit are welcome as well...

plans for the car here...http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=461160

I thought all 4th-gen Z28's came with factory limited slip. Are you sure yours doesn't have it?

All 4th generation Z28s came with LSD/posi units. It may be burned out, or broken. Best way to check is put the axle on stands, and car in neutral. Turn one side and see if the other wheel turns with it.

Re: places for LSD?

The stock posi (aka LSD) is an Eaton unit. It's a pretty good piece -- might as well get a stock replacement to ease your trouble.

No it's not. The stock posi is an Auburn, and in the later years was replaced with an SLP torsen. Auburn is not rebuildable. Eatons are aftermarket, and are rebuildable.

Here you can find how to test your Auburn (#8), how to care for it and what it eats.

Re: places for LSD?

We have differentials. LOTS OF them. Auburn, Torsen, TruTrac, Detroit Locker, Eaton, you name it, I've got it (and I know how each of them work and what they are best for).

Z28's do have LSD's stock. Weak ones, and given the age of the car, a completely worn out one, but there is one in there....

Re: places for LSD?

I stand corrected. I thought the stocker was an Eaton.
