Need info/opinion on Baer Brakes for 97 SS Camaro

I have a 1997 Camaro SS that I was thinking of installing a Baer brake kit into. I want to put in the 13" GT system. Most sites have the kits that only have the front rotors, but I really want to replace all 4 rotors. I don't have much experience working on brakes myself, but is this something I could tackle on my own, or should I have a pro shop do the work? Thanks

I let a shop install my Baer brakes. After seeing the fabrication that was needed to mount the calipers, I was glad I made my decision NOT to do it on my own.

tell you what...find a sawzall, 2 blades, 1 can of wd-40 or other lube. spend about 20 minutes on each cutting off ears and tabs. use brake cleaner and spray it off and paint whatever color you want. save the hundred bucks.

Installation is straight forward, I installed the Baer 13" Track Kit. No need to upgrade the rear brake setup, it works well. Just add some better pads like the Hawk HPS.

Its pretty much like Severous said, a sawzall and a few blades. Keep the cut lubed and the blades will last longer. The instructions that come from Baer are pretty thorough. The only downside to Baer is that replacement rotors are really expensive. If you go with a C5 brake kit the rotors are much less expensive.

i have the c5 kit and couldnt be more satisfied. both are a PBR caliper and made by the same people, using the same abutment brackets and the same pads...the only expensive part is their rotors.

i'm happy with my 20 dollar C5 blanks and red calipers. i found some brembos that were for sale on ebay for a hundred bucks.
