In the middle of torque arm mount replacement...grrrr

I got the brackets loose from the tranny, but for the love of God can't remove that smaller top bolt that holds the clamshell together. It almost looks like one side of the nut/bolt is welded to the bracket. This design just sucks! Am I really going to have to buy a grinder just to get those rivets out?? I don't see how I'd ever fit a drill up in there.

UPDATE:

I ended up having to drop the tranny at the tail end to be able to get the torque arm low enough. Wow....I never would've thought just by looking at it, that this job would have been this bad. Anyhoo...it's finished now.
