Brake light is on....can anyone tell me why?

the E brake still works, everything seems good there, the fluid is full, so why does the Brake light stay on all the time? The ABS light is off and the car seems to not stop real fast, but nothing that seems that bad really, I need suggestions on things I can check, and how I can check them, all advice in greatly appreciated

check the brake switch with an ohm meter located in your console, it may be damaged from use.

'Brake' light in the DASH?
1]Check the 3rd brake light bulb... if that's out, it stays lit..
2]It's an 'E brake on' indicator..
3]It also indicates problem in one brake section['disproportionate pressure'..front/rear]
Have you 'opened' the brake system lately? If so it takes like a 400psi application to clear that..
If not, look for a leak..
