front lca removal issue

Ok so I had completely disassembled the drivers side of my 02 z28 to remove the front lower control arms as I have new ones for both sides w brand new poly bushings readyto go in. As I try to take out the verticle bolt holding my control arm in it only come about 1 and 1/2 inchs out before the bolt head hits on the inside of the firewall. I tried positioning the control arm differently to try to change the bolt angle but that didn't work .is there something im missing here?

I haven't looked at mine, but I would cut of the head of the bolt and reinstall the new bolt from the other side,if you can.

i just got mine out no prob the pass side however wanted to be a B&%^h the hole is sloted and hot to tap/ pry the control arm untell the bolt was in the right spot to come out. keep working with it before you just start cuting also if you need you can loosen up the sub frame and let it drop down a bit. good luck what polly bushings did you get and how do you like them. not sure if im geting ES or prothane

Re: front lca removal issue

I got mine out by rotating it to the front and was able to slide the a-arm off of the bolt. It took me a while to figure it out,but it worked. I just hope I can get it back together, now.
