Mine has done that a couple times too, but then when I pull it again it's fine. Remember reading somewhere to take up the slack you just pull up on the lever 3 times slowly? Could be wrong though -

Re: Emergency Brack adjustment

I have heard you are supposed to go in revers then get on the brakes hard...

I have tried it hard easy, etc.... nothing worked.

I'll try the lever thing but I doubt it works either.

FWIW I pulled the rear and driveshaft and checked everything, nothing to adjust the e-brake.

Re: Emergency Brack adjustment

on my third gen, both sides meet to one common cable and bracket, with a nut to adjust tension

on a typical drum brake set up driving in reverse will adjust the shoes to accomodate normal wear and tear

on ls1 rear brakes, the intergral drum brake has a self adjusting screw to accomodate normal wear and tear, not for major adjustment

disconnect the driveshaft again, and follow the two ebrake cables, they should meet up to one cable/bracket, and from there you can adjust it

Wrong generation man. That worked for older drum brake cars. But not for disc brakes. Forther compounding the problem is the rear brakes are disc and the parking brake is a small drum inside the rear disc.

The parking brake handle has a small ratchet tooth in the handle that is supposed to automatically adjust it. If the handle came all the way up with little to no tension, it's probable jammed.

Re: Emergency Brack adjustment

Mine just did this. Flew all the way up and broke part of my console at the top.

I'll be screwing with it tomorrow morning. I'll let everyone know how it works out.
