Energy Suspension Bushings ??'s
I upgraded the front upper control arm bushings along with Bilstien shocks. I have not done the lowers yet. I notice when driving surface streets a knocking sound that seems to be coming from the upper control arm area. I pulled the wheel off and used a jack to lift the assembly just to verify where the noise was coming from. I wonder if the machine shop over-torqed the two bolts when the pressed the bushings. Has anyone experienced this after replacing there bushings? Any ideas on what I can do?

I did the ES polys on both upper and lower a-arms, and there was no "pressing" involved, except for the oddball "vertical" lower a-arm bushing - it took a C-clamp to compress the 3 pieces together. But the uppers just slid right in, very well lubed with the white grease that ES includes in the little yellow tubs.

Fred,
Thanks for the reply. I just burned out the LCA vertical bushing(what a pain). Is ther a better way?
1) What are the steps to compress the three pieces together? I thought the (inner) metal sleeve was going to seperate in to two parts to make this easier.
2) Does the horizontal bushing need to be burned out as well?
Thanks
