yes you can do it with hand tools...your gonna need to put it on jack stands for leverage...and it would help if you sprayed the bolts with pb blaster in case they are rusted....put it on jackstands and support the rearend with a jack...if you go to installuniversity.com you can get a tutorial on how to change them down to all tools needed

Put LCAs/PHR on my car with hand tools - had mine on a lift, don't think doing it on the ground is a good idea.

A good size, quality breaker bar should be in your toolbox. If you cheap out, you just make it harder on yourself. The right tool is worth every penny.

I have yet to meet a bolt that can withstand the fury of a breaker bar and a 1" wrench.

Even with a breaker bar, I had some trouble breaking the old LCA bolts free. Some squirts of PB Blaster and a couple hours downtime, they came right apart.

When I did my LCA's, I used hand tools. I soaked the bolts with PB Blaster and let them soak. However, I still managed to break the bolts and had to borrow a saw to cut the old control arms out. It sucked

I don't believe you're going to be able to change the LCA on ramps seeing as how you need to remove the wheel and whatnot
