C5 conversion - which rotors? Which pads for track use?

I'm thinking about getting a set of TrackBrackets and converting to C5 brakes up front on my '02 Z28 M6. I have some questions:

1. Are C5 and C5 Z06 rotors both compatible with the brackets?
2. What is a good rotor at a decent price? I'm not interested in anything cross-drilled, but slotted is okay.
3. Do the TrackBrakets require that I get C5 calipers too, or are they just bumping my stock calipers out so that they fit over the larger rotor? If I need new calipers, what does everyone use?

Secondarily, I'm going to try to go to my first road racing event this year. I know that I should get some race pads for that. A friend of mine recommended Hawk HT-10, but he's a Subaru guy and I'm hoping to get some advice from someone more familiar with F-bodies. Thoughts? Where do you guys buy your pads?

I'm thinking of these rotors.

Also, assuming I can't use my stock calipers, it seems that a stock Z06 caliper is a fine choice at a decent price.

And, assuming the HT-10 is a good choice, I'll probably just get the pads from Summit.

I'm putting C5 front and rear brakes on my car right now. I went over to the corvette forum and found a guy who was selling his ZO6 brakes. The Z06 calipers are the same as C5. Make sure the rotors measure 12.8 inches in diameter if you have 17inch rims. I believe there is a 13.1 inch C5 rotor too which is the Z51 package. I was able to pick up 4 red stuff EBC pads, 4 calipers, 4 rotors for 500 bucks + shipping (10k miles).
I purchased some heavy duty powder coated conversion Brackets for $100 plus shipping. These are meant for Track use. I think its way over kill for my street use application. Its made out of steel so it feels like its about 9lbs with grade 12.9 bolts. The normal street use brackets weigh around 3-5lbs depending and has the 10.9 bolts.

I'm starting the project after I write my 58mm TB vs 52mm TB test.

I wasn't aware that there were two different grades of brackets. Where did you get yours?

Also, are you absolutely sure that the Z51 rotors are larger diameter than the Z06 rotors (seems weird to me)? I thought they were all 13.1" and that the Z06 just had better calipers (4-piston vs. 2).

I was looking at these brackets:

They are aluminum billet.

Original Bob Bishop C5 Brackets are made of Aluminum 6061.
UMI C5 Brackets are made of Aluminum 2024.
Heavy Duty Race Brackets are made of 1045 steel
They also make a Stainless steel bracket which is stronger than aluminum but not as strong as 1045. It has anti corrosion characteristics over 1045 but that why you just powder coat 1045. The 1045 has the greatest compression and tensile strength but alittle heavier.

Aluminum 2024 has a higher tensile strength than 6061 which is the one fullthrottle is selling but its alittle more expensive. If you tracked your car I would go with at least 2024.
2024 has a tensile strength3³ (ksi) 68-75
6061 has a tensile strength3³ (ksi) 35-45

Also find out the thickness of the bracket... If its 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 plate. This is a big factor too especially if you track your car. 1/2 being the best. Find out what grade bolts they supply you also.

Things to consider quote from http://www.steelforge.com/metaltidbi...lestrength.htm
A variety of other factors such as heat tolerance, corrosion resistance, hardness, weldability, and more play a role in choosing the correct alloy for an application.

Just make sure the corvette rotor size is 12.8 inch if you have a 17inch rim. There are different rotor sizes.
And no the C5 ZO6 caliper is the same as the normal C5. Both are Dual Pistons. C6 Z06 has different calipers than C6 vettes.

I bought mine from a guy in Pennsylvania who has been making them for about 7 years now. They are about 140 dollars.

It's not only the material but how thick and beefy the bracket is which is why you can not rank them based on that alone imo.
