beware of PowerStop!

To make long story short during a roadracing track day this weekend left rear PowerStop brake rotor split in pieces and just due to absolute miracle I only smashed car lightly against a concrete wall - track guys said that I am very very lucky indeed. So stay away from brand called PowerStop unless you want to risk with your life. I bought the car with the PowerStop rotors already on it so can not comment about the brand itself etc.

Those rotors are made for looks, not racing. Glad you are ok.

If you want to go racing, StopTech, Baer, and Brembo are your best options. You still need to make sure you're buying the right product, though -- drag brakes are no good on a road course.

Front ones were Baer but after 2 pairs of rotors cracked I got tired of them and switched to Movits - expensive, yes but top performance indeed. About rear ones - is there any use to change all the rear system or just swap in good rotors like Brembo and leave calipers original? I am rodaracing the car just for fun - no competitions planned.

If you're cracking Baer rotors, you're doing something wrong. That's pretty high quality stuff.

The previous owner cracked Baers as well. On same tracks Movits keep up though.

Sounds odd to fracture a rear rotor. I'd take a close look at the caliper mounting and e-brake cable routing to be sure it's not dragging. (tell the course people to get a hay bale or used tire stack between the track and that wall!)

were they drilled, slotted, or both?

I've got powerstop or powerslot rotors, but I only daily drive. I plan to go to tracks like willow springs, so I'll keep in mind I need better rotors.
