Question 99 Parking Brake Wheel Cylinder Stud

I recently picked up an axle from a 99 Camaro with 3.42 gears to install on my 93 to ditch my 2.73 rear end. Upon inspection, I found that one of the studs that drives the mechanical parking brake shoe is missing. The guy that I bought the axle from said that it was that way when he bought it, so now I need to track one down. Can anyone help??

It looks like that part is no longer available separately. You could buy the entire parking brake shoe / wheel cylinder assembly that bolts to the axle, but its a bit pricey ($175 wholesale). To replace it on the cheap, your gonna have to find someone that has a scrap rear and get this from it. Also keep in mind, with that stud there's a small about ~1/2" pushrod that is connected to the parking brake lever. Chances are if the actuator is missing, so is the pushrod.

95TA04GOAT, did you check to see if that was available from the dealer?

Re: 99 Parking Brake Wheel Cylinder Stud

One more question for you. I hopped on Rockauto's website and cross-referenced the parking brake shoe part number and found that it was used on all of the following vehicles. Is there any chance that the part I need is the same on these other vehicles? I am sure that I could pull something from a yard from some of these vehicles that are not front wheel drive much cheaper than from another f-body.

I checked Nalleygmc.com, they have really good exploded views. The parking brake setup looks identical to my GTO as well. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the wheel cylinder parts are interchangeable across all of those cars. Definitely worth a trip to the bone yard.

From the list, it is probably the sane part from all those, and when you consider the S10 with rear disc brakes uses a 7.5 10 bolt, it stands to reason
