4th Gen Rear Only Lowering Springs

Hi All,

I have been considering getting some lowering springs for my 1993 Z28. For time and money considerations I am thinking of just rear springs and am curious if anyone has done just rear springs before? Does anyone have any pics they can share? Just trying to get an idea if this will look good or ridiculous. Trying to get rid of the space between the tire and fender. Would 1.25" be good enough? Are they any clearance issues if going to a 1.5"?

Pic is for attention.

Re: 4th Gen Rear Only Lowering Springs

I get the desire to save money, but automotive suspension is a delicate balance. Aftermarket rear lowering springs paired with stock front springs will not only look silly; it’ll affect your car’s balance.

To be clear, it would probably not be the end of the world in terms of handling. It might even give you a slight advantage in acceleration and braking due to the instant center being moved slightly rearward.

It’ll also throw off the aim of your headlights (they’ll be too high). Not sure how much driving you do at night. These can be adjusted to accommodate.

I’d encourage you to save your money until you can manage a full set! Also, look around online; probably there’s someone out there selling a set used.
