4th gen poly bushings
4th gen poly bushings
I am trying to replace my front end bushings on my 95 conv with Energy Suspension bushings. The upper control arms did not come with new outer sleeves, and they require leaving the old sleeves in the control arm, and pressing the rubber out. This is impossible. The first one I dug out, but I am having a hard time cleaning all of the rubber out. Anybody do this? Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: 4th gen poly bushings
I think overall it would be quicker to take them to a machine shop to be pressed out. Worth the money. Anyway, I also burned mine out. Set a torch on them 'till it fell out in a globbed mess. After the a-arm cooled down, I dug what was left out with a razor blade, then used some sandpaper to finish it. Took a while.
Re: 4th gen poly bushings
I gave my upper control arms to a machine shop to replace them with poly. Then ended up burning the old ones off. Charged me $100 for the replacement of 4 bushings
Needless to say, next time I'll do it myself!
