Re: Vogtland Lowering Spring Special!
Vogtland is the only spring which is made using the exclusive to Vogtland spring alloy called VVS. This is the same material used in all the race springs they manufacture for Nascar and Indy car series. By using the VVS alloy Vogtland is able to manufacture a superior spring which is up to 30% lighter than other springs of the same spring rates. This will reduce your unsprung weight and give you better handling, response, and road feel. These springs also come with a lifetime no sag warranty. If you have anymore questions please do not hesitate to ask. My direct email is brian@hotpart.com if you would like to speak with me directly about anything.

Re: Vogtland Lowering Spring Special!
Sounds TOO GOOD and a little hokie. If this material is used in NASCAR and Indy Car I would think this would be ALOT more expensive. Plus where did you gather your data saying these are better than the rest of the manufacturers out there. VERY SCEPTICAL HERE.

If that doesn't work, go to http://www.vogtland.com/, click on English (unless you speak German) and then click on "Motorsports". The also click on "NASCAR links" under the Motorsports on that page.

Re: Vogtland Lowering Spring Special!
Vogtland is a company that has been manufacturing springs in the European market place since 1908 in Hohenlimburg Germany. They have since taken the European market and they are very popular in the import market place. In 2001 they decided to open Vogtland North America which is focusing on improving the Domestic market share. The main focus for Vogtland is value. They have a very strict quality control process they go through to ensure a very high quality spring. They only cold form the springs using the VVS alloy. Once they are formed they go through tempering, shotpeening and a triple preset which allows them to offer the lifetime no sag warranty. They are finally phosphate treated and powder coated for the durable finish. I hope this helps answer a few questions about Vogtland and the process they use for every spring they produce.
On a more technical side with spring weights, Eibach has a shipping weight of 44 lbs according to the Eibach catalog which I cannot verify by weighing a spring set anymore as we no longer carry Eibach. Eibach spring rates are also a variable rate of 337-600 in the front and 94-160 in the rear. Vogtland has weight of 8.6 pounds per spring in the front with a working spring rate of 440-542, and the rear spring weighs in at 7.5 pounds each with a working spring rate of 183-228. As you can see the Vogtland spring weighs in at a little less than 33 pounds per set with slightly less spring rate in the front and slightly higher rate in the rear to help reduce understeer or increase oversteer depending on how you prefer to look at it.
The bottom line is we discontinued the other spring companies for two main reasons.
1. Reduce the unsprung weight. Reducing unsprung weight will give you better handling, response, road feel, and better ride quality.
2. Quality, with the 15+ years we have been doing this we have seen to many of the other major springs sag. We have never seen a Vogtland spring sag.

Re: Vogtland Lowering Spring Special!
The following is a email we received from Richard who is the President of Vogtland North America.
"VVS wire provides our engineers to stress the material much higher than normal suspension grade wire. So we can reduce the wire diameter and reduce the total coil count. If you have a apples to apples comparison from spring to spring and the other manufacturer uses a high grade chrome silicon (CrSi) wire, the Vogtland VVS alloy provides about a 15 - 20% weight reduction based on wire diameter reduction. But because we can package a smaller spring and achieve the same travel we normally can see improvements of 30 - 35 % weight reduction.
The material that we use is more expensive, however, if you reduce spring weight proportionately total springs cost is within 10% of standard CrSi material. Vogtland is willing to defray the cost so that we can enter the market and provide value to our customers. Less money is spent on advertising and that savings is passed to the customer."
This should help clear a few things up behind the theory of using this material. We also have a data sheet on these spring we can email anyone who wants one.

Re: Vogtland Lowering Spring Special!
I hope this Helps. These springs are better than most aftermarket springs. The price is awesome. That company had made springs for alot cars for years and is very reputable. If you were an Audi guy you'd be all over these. I didnt even think i wanted springs until i saw this.
