I've decided to toss a cap out there...10k max. That SS sounds sweet, but I dont want to take a loan out right now.

:)

on a more serious note, 10k is enough for a really really really low milage good condition LT1 car or a beat on high milage LS1 car

Re: WTB: 95+ F-body

Yea, Im focusing my search on LT1's. I'd prefer 95-97 but Im willing to look at 93-94 if they are in good condition or better. Mileage must be fairly low...Im not considering 80k+cars.

if i were to go about looking for an LT1 car with $10k in hand ...

you should be able to find a good condition LT1 car with less than 60k miles on it for like $6k

having owned one before, i'd suggested looking for garage kept cars only because now that they are approaching or exceeding their 10th birthdays the paint will be flaking off like crazy, or getting ready to if they wern't properly garaged and waxed.

also the standard LT1 optispark and intake manifold oil leaks, as well as EGR sticking and such.

personally i'd get a 1995 car due to the OBD1 PCM and the vented opti. your first activity should be to buy some cheap EGR block-off plates and remove the EGR, then get some cheap coated longtubes and a cutout, make a cold air intake or buy one used, and be running stock LS1 times at the track with proper traction :)

anyways, thats just me :)

Theres a 97 z28 Im lookin at...completely stock, 68400 miles, some of the stuff you mentioned has been changed out. The only thing not stock are z06 wheels and tires...decent amount of tread, but they'll need changin out eventually. The seller is askin 8500.

Re: WTB: 95+ F-body

I should be completin the transaction within the next few days...if someones got a great deal for another car its not too late, but unlikely unless its just totally a great deal.

Re: WTB: 95+ F-body

8500 is too much

Re: WTB: 95+ F-body

Yea, his original was 8700, I talked him down a bit more from 8500, not much tho. He's tossin in a nice cd player and the stock wheels. In the end I'm prolly still payin a bit too much, but its lower than retail, so Im not complainin too much.
