Exclamation Upcoming central Florida autocross events

Lots of autocross events coming up. If you're at all interested in attending the higher-speed events at Gainesville, you should attend as many events beforehand as possible. Waivers are not insurance against lack of experience in a track atmosphere. I believe we will be requiring novices to ride with an instructor or very experienced co-pilot at Gainesville. We expect speeds to approach 110 on the back straight in the Z06/Viper-style cars. This is not a road course, and each of the competitive three runs is expected to last 40-50 seconds.

So please, we'd love to have you come out and have a fantastic time. But it would be best to get some experience in ahead of time. There are a lot of things to learn which do not involve being in your car. If you decide to not come back, we want it to be because you decide it's not for you...not because you're in the hospital.

The normal monthly events are either $20 or $25 for non-members. The Gainesville events are $40 for non-members. Once you have three events under your belt you're eligible to join. Member rates are $12 per normal event, and $25 at Gainesville, plus ~$30/yr in dues.

Upcoming events:
--------------------------
9/14 September monthly event at Lake County/Tavares
10/25 October event - Maxi-Prix at the Gainesville test track
11/1 MSCC hosts Florida SCCA Nationals @ Gainesville test track (MSCC rules, SCCA bracketing on Saturday) (November event)
11/2 MSCC hosts Florida SCCA Nationals @ Gainesville test track (SCCA rules, SCCA bracketing on Sunday)
12/14 December monthly event

Hope to see some new faces out there!

I should finally be getting a manual car in December (when they first come out ) and I've been dying to run something other than drag racing. Hopefully there's plenty going on then

Sounds good.

Anyone know if there is a pre-registration pre-payment involved?

They will be having pre-registration and pre-payment (via PayPal) from the MSCC website again this year for the Gainesville events. However, the information has not yet been posted on the MSCC site.

Doesn't seem like the site is being kept up-to-date all that well.

I'm curious about Brett's new manual car as welll......

There is no preregistration available for the September event this Sunday. There will definately be preregistration for the October events. Maybe even pretech the night before. That was an idea that was mentioned at the meeting. Nothing definate there yet.

Yeah i figured that for the one on sunday, jsut I seem to remember last maxi prix I registered like a month and a half early.

As for the new zealand class winning car... would this new car have a nickname of an animal that likes to eat tin cans?
