Agreed...
Sorry this is the first night I was going to be able to run since before they closed in december...
My car is not goign to even remotely get new times(testing and tuning some stuff) but I jstu wanted a night out there and see how the car could do before I tuned it, figured it was a sweet night to do this.
Cold Air = Dense Air = can mix more fuel with excess air = more HP
Think they woudl open up jsut for that....
Guess good news is I forgot that they jacked up the rates, I would have not had enough cash to get in and been pissed to have to go to an ATM.

If they need more money why don't they lay out a huge slab of concrete, for autocrossers?
I am sure they coudl probable book it every weekend, and don't they already have the insurance needed to allow racing?

yea that is very odd to me...
cold weather + low humidity = more HP + better times
so, why would you close your business when it has the potential to be a big night for your clients? and undoubtedly there would be lots of clients as there always are.
its like closing a mcdonnalds thats next to a cannibus convention.

Cold weather = NO HOOK. Makes for nice power but when you can't put the power to the ground it's useless. That's the reason this past funday sunday was such a great one. During the day the sun is out to help heat the track so it helps with traction but the air was still cool and dense. Saw a few broken personal bests that day.
Anyways, I still agree that they should be open but I doubt anyone would've run any bests. If anything you would've seen some nice mph but your 60' times would've been horrific.

Maybe for you guys with that thing called torque....
I dead hook on bald street tires with a 4k launch in my car...
my biggest problem is my car has NO top end at all...
I was even thinkign of yanking the belt tonight, assumed a little less likely of a chance of overheating problems.
On a side note does anyone know if there are electrical outlets in those light polls cloeste to the biker lane?
I was thinking of running no drivebelt, and maybe bringin my drill and an extension cord to hook up to the alternator and use it to spin the alternator and charge the battery between runs so I don't have to worry about any power losses, I have gone about 30 minutes with my alternator not hooked up(corroded wire that broke), jsut don't want to beg for a jump...

Sorry guys, I have to agree with them on this one. I was just at a friend's house and left the top down on the SS from afternoon. When I came out there was ICE on the tops of my seats.
There are a lot of idiots that come out for t&t. Some of them with VERY fast cars. Combine that with cold tires and a cold track with lower than normal amounts of traction and things could get ugly quick. All you'd need is somebody's radiator overflow to spit some water down toward the fast end of the track and freeze. I know I wouldn't want to be the one to hit it while shifting to the next gear. We all know what crappy traction this track has to begin with.
