T-56 Conversion

Hey guys,

My tranny went south Friday night. I lost overdrive, and am probably looking at a rebuild. I am strongly considering a M6 conversion on my 93 Z.

Anyone know of a local place I can get the parts I need or at least the tranny to save shipping?

Thanks!

They're not local but you'll be able to get a complete setup from one of these FBody/Vette junk yards.

http://www.hpsalvage.com/ looks like the best but they're in Texas.

http://www.fparts.us/index.htm is in PA.

http://www.billygrahamscamaro.com/index.htm is in AL and where I got my body side moldings from. They were great to deal with over the phone.

I got my rear axle off of www.speedautomotive.com, $408 shipped with driveshaft, axle and brakes, from I think Ohio. they seemed great for me though others have ahd problems with them it seems.

more local is www.tacreationsusa.com they are located in Hialeah(Miami), FL, they have given me some run around on picking up some used motors but there deals seem decent I am slightly considering a lt1, pcm t-56 all out of a 95 form them. Ft. lauderdale is roughly a 3 hour drive, from Orlando, so I miami is probable a 3.5 hour drive if you really want ot save on shippng and go on a small vacation(assuming you have another car with overdrive to go in :))

Thanks guys for the response.

My only concern with this conversion is the wiring. I want everything to work like it is supposed too. :)
