Man got pulled over by OCS again...

Just got pulled over again... another warning but dang. This is like 10-15 times I have been pulled over by OCS.

I was driving a little spiritedly but didn't really go over 55. Though he warned me about entering a turn lane too quickly(to mny apartment complex there are 3 turn lanes, in consecutive order, I pulled into them and drove through them... Actually I was probalby going a little faster maybe 65, cuz I was in 3rd, downshifted to 2nd, then laid on the brakes a little, took a right turn, up a little hill and around a round about pretty quickly in 2nd gear.

What tipped him off is I flew around a corner pretty fast, and gunned it from 35ish to 55ish.

scared me a little when he asked if I had anything hidden in the car I said no go ahead and look and had my autocross numbers chilling in the back seat, then I said, I do building maintenance and have a few tools in the car(I do, a drill, and some other tools so I assume he thought the numbers were work related since they are home depot reflector numbers

Ohh well once again goes to show be polite, curteous and cooperative and cops are cool.

I was certain I was gonna get a ticket since he pulled the shine spot light on me, him and his partner out of the car, and him over the PA saying "Driver slowly exit the car with your driver's license out, now walk over to the patrol car"

But he was cool.

ohh well once again heads up on 50 cops are out full force, even for a 2 minute drive for me tor drop a friend off at her apartment, probably less then 2 miles round trip.

I hear that but why, I got nothing to hide, you figre with some 40-50 pullovers and only a few tickets, that the whole cooperation thing woudl have worked out.

I think they did the intercom thing because I was speeding with a "nicer" car in the ghetto, they likely thought I was a drug dealer or something. And when I say nicer I mean, it didn't cost $500 like the rest of my neighborhood.

I have had the intercom thing pulled on me a few times before but for obvious I was doing something REALLY wrong.

I agree. If you have nothign to hide, chances are they will let you get off easier if you let them. It's happened to me before.

Why would it be illegal to be in possession of something pertaining to autocrossing?

ehh ya'll can let them search your cars, i'll go ahead and deny them access to mine.

to me its not a matter of "i have nothing to hide", its a matter of "its my space and you ain't getting in it without probable cause".

sure, a pissed off cop might give ya the ticket, but i havn't run into that yet.

Its about perception... Cops see I have racing numbers, they assume I am a racer, and race everywhere, then they think of racers they come across which is street racers.

Even though it should mean nothing, don't want the police percieving that I like to go fast in my car when they just pulled me over.

anasazi why say no to search the car? all they have to do is get a search warrant and that pissesss them off more. And you look more supicious

They will NEVER get a warrant to search a car unless they have some serious notions that you are hiding something. And if that's the case, they'll have all the probable cause they need to do so without a warrant.

But I agree. Letting them look is no big deal unless you have something to hide. If they are being cooperative the best thing to do is be cooperative in return. If you're undoubtedly getting written up, screw 'em. Say no.

Re: Man got pulled over by OCS again...

I have issues behaving as well.

Although I've also been very lucky. I almost rearended a vehicle because I was checking my blind spot to change lanes and the guy in front of me slammed on his brakes. Then I proceeded to follow a V6 Camaro as he tried to pull away from me.

I guess I'm still better than most though. I at least have enough common sense to pay attention to my driving and not my phone, food, newspaper, etc...

absolutly not.

when you say no you deny the officer the ability to search your vehicle without just cause.

in no way does it imply guilt.

in no way shape or form will i ever voluntarilly submit to a search by anyone. if they want to search then they're going to have to have a good enough reason to stand up in court.

lol Okay all im saying is that if you have nothing to hide then why not just let the cop search your car. Its easier on you and the cop. and about 99% of the time the cop wins in court

Re: Man got pulled over by OCS again...

i have been reading this thread but didnt think i felt the need to post in it till realier when my brother was going through my glove compartment. guess what he found. and this wasnt in a bag or anything, just scattered throughout. taking a good guess almost enuff weed to roll a joint!
and if a cop ever asked me to search the car since the day i had it, i would have told him to go ahead and search if he felt the need to.
needless to say i threw it in the grass, a MUCH better place than in my car.
just thought i would share, enjoy
