Looking for Trans shop for shift kit install

I have a Trans-go shift kit. It's been in my closet for almost a year. I would like to get this thing in my car soon, but I don't know of any shops that I trust w/ my transmission. Can anyone recomend one in West Palm, Gainesville, Orlando, Tampa, or Jax. Thanks

Your car has only 35000 miles and you had to rebuild the T56? Or does the 35000K in your sig mean 35000000? If so you have the most miles on an LT1 that I have ever heard of...

Anyway, back on topic, if you have even the slightest bit of mechanical ability, you should be able to install the shift kit yourself...

I went to speedway tranmission, to get my shop done, its up here in O-town guy was decent, relatively cheap for install, he also did a poly torque arm bushing, and was willing to do a centerforce dual friction clutch, but i could nto round up the money in time so i jsut got a oem replacement.

Guy did good work for me, but if others can give you an f-body performance shopp specific place i would go there.

I second the vote for Ken's Performance. Ken is a straight up guy and will take care of your car. If you have a big converter have tham install all three washers. You will love it.

Later.

there's a new kit out, that just came in the last month or so.

it has totally normal shifts during normal driving, and extremely brutal shifts during WOT bursts.

those constant brutal shifts are tough on your U-joints, tranny mounts, and loosen the whole body after while.

L&D transmissions up here in St Marys GA, talk to Larry. He's a 700R4 Guru. he spent an hour or so tuning our tranny after he got it in so she could drive every day, and it would still stand up to her ~370hp motor

he rebuilt our 93 tranny and warranty'ed it up to 550 horse, and he is wanting to put the new kit in it to make it easier for my daughter to drive in the rain.
hth?

Thanks for the replies.

John Storie, do you know how the kit provide different shifts. Does it change line pressure to change shift performance?

nah, I was just told about it.

You could call Larry @ 912-510-9240 and ask him.

he's pretty hardcore when he builds a tranny, and he warranty's them to 550hp, with the exception of abuse (different parts break somehow)

i'll do a post with his info & in what I know about his shop.
